Have you ever thought about why is it so hard to leave things?
Even when you know it is time to go, and move on, you still have a piece of you that doesn't want to leave.
That’s because you remember how much you love the game.
Everyone loves being challenged and it turns out our minds love the work.
We invest ourselves into what we do. We offer our time, our frustration, our love, our ideas. We get raked over the coals on some days and uplifted to unbelievable heights on others.
We have given time from our precious life to whatever it is.
The thing is, we naturally love the work, we love the game, and it is hard to leave even when it is time.
Whether you realize it or not, your conscious values your time, even if you don't.
Even if you haven't given one damn thought to the fact that you could die at any moment, your mind knows.
Your instincts are to care about life, and you care about everything you have given your time to, even the bad things, if you have them.
The point is, when you step back from things good or bad... you realize all they have done for you.
All that you have learned.
All that you have struggled through.
All that it has given you.
We never realize how much we love the game until we must leave it. So, remember, it’s not the goal that you are after, it is the work up to the goal.
Then at the end, when the goal is hit, or the time for that adventure is up, appreciate what it has done for you and enter yourself into the next game.
