One thing I think we lack a lot in the world today is a solid purpose.
A true purpose for a task is sometimes hard to find and hold onto especially when life gets hard. Also, in the world today a lot of the tasks we have daily lack a real reason, meaning, or instant effect.
We go to the job to pay the bills to buy things that make us happy for a moment and then repeat.
What’s the purpose?
To fit in, to feel like you are doing everything right, to not stress about fear and risk.
We go with the noise never stepping back to assess what we are doing. At end of the day, we are getting things done, to move towards what?
This endless loop?
We need to work on looking at the reason we are doing things, the true meaning and impact we are creating.
If you have a job, it is to show your kids how to contribute and work hard. If you eat right, it’s because you want to be an example to others on how to take care of your body and live a full life.
The list goes on and on.
We don't quit things because we can't do them, we quit because we lost our purpose for doing it.
Now, that sometimes can be an answer to another question, is your purpose for doing something really that great to you?
If not, then you need to assess and maybe shift.
Start looking at your purpose in life, what means the most to you and why?
Why are you doing the things you do?
What are things that matter?
Assess and be honest, no matter how hard the answer might be.
This is how we change; this is how we move forward; this is how you live a fulfilling life.
If we create purpose in all we do, we will never feel as though we are lost.
