Love Yourself

Have you ever worked really hard on something?

A project at work, or at home, your family, a sport, think about anything you have put a large amount of effort into.

Now realize how much you love and care for that thing whatever it is.

As humans, we naturally develop a love for things we have given a large amount of our time and effort to. (I believe it is because subconsciously we know time is limited but that is beside the point.)

Our brains will naturally start to care and want to keep taking care of whatever we have worked so hard on.

Suddenly, we make new connections. We think of ways to keep making it better, or we just sit and enjoy it every chance we get.

I know you all thought of something and have experienced this.

You probably thought about your back yard you just spent the summer finishing and how you have a sweet patio fire pit you light up every night, or about how you have created the greatest sales team at work, and everyone is crushing their numbers and loves their job.

I find it funny though, I doubt a single person read the beginning of this blog and thought "yes, I have worked really hard on myself, and I love myself".

It is funny to me, now days, loving yourself has become a bit blurry and it goes against everything that we do towards external areas in life.

We do not work on ourselves, we do not put in a large amount of effort towards our own health, development, and improvement.

Yet we sit around and wonder why we do not love ourselves.

I have learned how to love myself more and more over the years.

How did I do this?

I have spent the last 4 years pushing myself to become who I imagine myself being.

I have poured into my physical fitness, my education, my dreams, and my mental strength.

And naturally, due to how much effort I have put in, I have learned to love myself and the constant project my life is.

This is something I think we all need to understand. We do not love something truly until we have put real time and effort into it.

Does this mean we will always want to? No.

I bet there were plenty of times you did not want to go outside to work on your yard. But guess what, you did it anyway and now you have the most kick ass area to sit and enjoy after work.

Why not do this to yourself? Why not start today?

You might just find it is fun, and you will learn to love yourself along the way.
