I have been reading a book by a lady named Jen Sincero called, "You Are a Badass" and it has been very enjoyable. (Small plug, go read it)
In it she says something that I think is very useful and I would like to touch on today.
In one of the sections, she talks about having the "just see if you can" mentality.
This really hit home for me because I think this is often how I look at new things and opportunities in life. I do a lot of random things and I honestly think it is fun to just see if I can.
While getting myself to see each thing through 100% is a struggle, I really do enjoy just doing something new to see if I can.
I need to find my structure with this concept no doubt, but I think it is something that more people should do.
For example, when you have a promotion opportunity, and you are unsure if you want to take it, why not just see if you can? Or, when you want to run a mile every day but currently have the workout routine of a sloth...why not just start and see if you can?
While I don’t do this in every area of life and could totally be more outgoing and adventurous, I still challenge you to start having this mind set as well.
I plan to implement this into more things that I do and see what happens.
I will keep you all updated.
Maybe I'll do something real dumb and wind up dead. I guess we’ll see.
But hey, it is life and honestly, what thoughts do you want on your death bed?
Do you want to think, " man I wonder if I could have done..."
Or do you want to think, "damn I did everything I could."
Your choice.
