Gratitude

Lately I have been thinking a lot about gratitude.

If you follow people that are real leaders such as Ed Mylett, Andy Frisella, David Goggins and many more, you will often hear them talk about being grateful. They often say they take a moment each day to remember all that they have and appreciate it. I guarantee everyone who has built real success in their life has a routine in place where they practice gratitude.

Gratitude is so important when you are building something in life and things get difficult. When you are pushing yourself past your breaking point, you must remember all the blessings you have. You must take yourself to a place of meaning and elevated emotion to keep going past roadblocks. This is the only way you can grit through the hardship’s life is bound to throw at you.

I know for a fact I do not practice gratitude nearly enough and it shows in my emotions. I will start to feel resentful, or angry that I am not where I want to be yet. I start watching other people and wishing I had what they had along with discrediting their success. This all leads to very negative emotions and low vibrations, and this is the very reason I am not where I would like to be in life. The more negativity you put into the universe, the more negativity it will give you in return.

Therefore, it is so important to be grateful for what you have and where you are. Note, I am not saying you should be satisfied, it is okay to want more and set goals for more, but never forget how lucky you are right now. Never forget that someone out there has it way harder than you do, and it is not going to get you anywhere being a victim to your life.

Lately on my daily walk, I have made it a habit to say at least 5 things I am grateful for. Sometimes I think of more, and other times I just think about those five. It is now one of my most cherished habits. The peace and joy it brings can make anything you have going on in the outside world disappear.

So, this week I encourage you to add gratitude into your daily routine. It doesn't have to be long, hell, Andy Frisella does it while he brushes his teeth in the morning. It can be simple but give it a try and see how your mind shifts and your emotional energy is lifted.
