Easter is a time of celebrating life. It is rebirth and the celebration of Jesus rising from the dead. It is what we have all been preparing for in these last 40 days of Lent.
Easter is joy.
You know what I think is so lovely about Easter?
It is a perfect window into what could be. Men dressing up, showing their sons how to be a man, mothers holding their newborn babies, families all coming together.
Not to mention the church is packed. People are giving up their seats for the elderly, grandkids are running around their grandparents, people are shaking hands, and all smashed together working to get everyone inside.
We all are the perfect examples of what we all want to be. On days like Easter, we all go that extra inch. We don't have a second thought on standing for the whole service if the sweet lady next to you has a seat.
We all live up to that internal standard and we all bask in the joy of it.
We all lean into love.
Could you imagine if we lived like this every day? Could you imagine if we all lived by example, lived for our children, and focused on raising them to be better than we are? Focused on love, unity and working together?
Now I say this, and I know half of you thought "well that’s just unrealistic".
But I challenge you.
Is it?
Why is it so unrealistic?
Give me a real answer.
I’m not saying we have a huge party and feast every Sunday of the week with all your distant relatives.
But what if every day you woke up got dressed nice and set a good example for you kids? What if you worked hard and always thought of others first? What if you took 1 HOUR out of your week to self-reflect, be grateful, and be with family.
What if we lived by the values, we hold so pure and true to Easter every day? Even when we didn't want to or exactly feel like it?
Even when it was hard.
Odds are, we manifest a lot more joy and love than we would anxiety and depression.
Sit and soak in all of today’s joy and maybe think of how you can so simply create more of it.
