Christmas is a celebration of life. Jesus is born, and we are ready for a Savior.
This is why I love the Christmas season.
December is a month for gratitude for what we have, hope for the new year, and celebration of life and everyone in it.
The month of December gives us the opportunity to evaluate what we have accomplished, while also preparing for another year of work. It is a great time for reflection as well as planning for the future.
All of this leads up to one final day when we celebrate the blessing of Jesus. It is a time when we stop and take a moment to realize how incredible life is.
Throughout the year, we do not value life nearly enough. It is so easy to go through day-to-day and never think twice about it. We don't think about how much we have to be thankful for, how quickly life can change, or the fact that it could end at any moment.
This concept is so often overlooked and undervalued that we get lost in distractions. The "reality slap" comes when it is too late. People wake up when everything is coming to an end, and they cannot get the time back.
This is why we need things like Christmas. We need to be reminded of the gift of life and a Savior who has given us such an amazing world to live in.
It truly is a wonder, everything we have in this world. So take a moment today to ask yourself...
Are you truly living it to the fullest?
What is next?
Do you respect and use the time you have, or are you wasting it away thinking it is unlimited?
If you feel you've been taking time for granted, take today to make a change. Celebrate life, realize how great it is, tell everyone you love them, and appreciate every second you are given.
Merry Christmas
